Nursery Provision
Juggling work and life can sometimes be challenging. Available support with the costs of childcare can make this easier.
Here at St Michaels, we want you to be aware of government support for your children attending our Nurseries or Wrap around Care Childcare Provision.

At St Michael’s C of E Academy our vision is ‘The future we create every day’ which underpins the curriculum that we provide for our wonderful pupils. We believe that all of our children are unique and aspire for them to live their life to the fullest. Our children are safe and happy in our Nursery. They spend their days sharing, talking, singing, problem solving, being playful and questioning the world in which they live. Through play, they practice new skills, investigate the world around them and challenge themselves to succeed. Our team of expert practitioners nurture the children’s character, building the foundations of confidence, resilience and a love of learning.
Our Nursery is open between 8.30am and 3.00pm. During this time parents and carers may access up to 30 hours of free entitlement for Nursery aged 3-4 children, and from September 2025 2 year olds can access the same, if they meet the entitlement criteria.
Time slots are of no less than three hours in any one day.
Children may order a school lunch at a charge of £2.60 per day or bring a packed lunch if their time falls during a lunch period. From 1st September 2025 all school meals will cost £2.85.
In addition to the free entitlement of either 15 or 30 hours, parents and carers may book additional Nursery sessions at a charge of £4.75 as of September 2024 for 3 and 4 year olds. As of 1st September 2025, nursery fees for 2-year-olds will be £5.50 per hour and for 3- and 4-
year-olds will be £5.00 per hour.
From September 2024 we will be offering 2 year old places in our nursery. Nursery fees are £5.25 per hour for 2 year olds.
